Only minimum amounts of cement and sand are used while constructing an interlock brick house. This tends to bring in savings that will amount to about 30% of the total costs. But skilled workers experienced in working with interlock bricks are needed for this type of construction.
Interlocking bricks can be used in the construction of walls of houses or compound walls.
Pillarless construction for buildings up to two storeys can be done using interlocking bricks as they have high load-bearing capacity. The construction of compound walls using these blocks will be more economical as we need to use cement mortar only in the first layer and last layer of the compound wall. This can bring in a significant reduction in material handling costs and the labour costs involved therein.
Interlock bricks have high strength and sturdiness, as they are made by dual compressing a mixture of Laterite soil and ordinary Portland cement or a combination of crusher dust, ordinary Portland Cement, 6 MM baby metal (aggregate), and water. After 7 days of curing, the blocks are construction-ready. These bricks can be manufactured on-site if required to save transport costs.
Concrete interlocking blocks don’t require plastering & which makes them a preferred choice over normal bricks! Wall putty can be directly applied over the bricks to produce superfine finish walls. This results in optimised construction costs.
Interlocking bricks can be saved & reused! If a building made using interlocking bricks is stripped down, the bricks can be reused for new construction projects in the future.
