We are the pioneers in the field of interlocking technology with more than 33 years of experience and on a mission to simplify construction through innovative technologies today for a greener tomorrow.

Our History

TOUGHIE was founded in 1987 under the humble but eminent leadership of Mr.P.J. James, Mr. P.J. George and Mr. Chacko Thannickal, at Perumbavoor, a suburban town in Ernakulam district of Kerala, India.

Starting with hollow blocks manufacturing unit, TOUGHIE moved on to be the pioneers of interlocking technology within in a decade and introduced the interlocking soil blocks which was the most preferred technology in state for its strength, durability, ambient temperature management properties and comfort in the dynamic climate of Kerala.

The construction landscape in Kerala and country was booming and the reign of TOUGHIE was shifted to the current leadership.

In 2012, TOUGHIE designed and developed a concrete based interlocking block technology that was more rugged, easy to deploy and revolutionary in the construction field. This paved way for a new era in construction landscape of Kerala, from small homes to commercial establishments, the projects involving TOUGHIE blocks were completed faster, required less labor and proven to be tougher and reliable in due course of time.

Today, TOUGHIE enjoys market leadership in interlocking technology and is expanding its presence in India and abroad.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Toughie blocks are manufactured with end user in mind, this ensures that in comparison to quality traditional brick work or block work, our blocks deliver more value for money on a per square feet value of construction. TOUGHIE’s easy to deploy blocks saves direct cost by reducing the sand, cement, water consumption, construction time and optimizes labor cost of construction through easy to build stackable design. The interlocking technology of TOUGHIE does not require regular cement mixture or mortar during construction except for base level fixing. This ensures that the effort of labor and time of construction is reduced by up to 60%. The blocks are pre-cured and use very less cement during construction leading to a saving on 90% water compared to conventional construction. Material handling and overall charges are reduced anywhere between 20-40 % by use of TOUGHIE Blocks.
