Are you using the right brick for building your dream house? Toughie Engineering, a prime manufacturer and supplier of soil interlocking bricks in Kerala sheds some light on this topic.

Bricks are the most vital elements in construction, and if they are strong naturally, you’ll have a strong building. Over the years, types of bricks used in building construction have evolved and become more refined to offer better strength and stability, and all these at cost-effective prices.

Interlocking bricks are now the new trend in house construction.

So, which bricks are good for house construction? Read on…

Sun-dried bricks, Hollow bricks, Fly Ash bricks, Burnt clay bricks & Interlocking bricks are the most common bricks used in construction.

One of the best bricks for construction, interlocking bricks are manufactured with a mixture of crusher dust, Ordinary Portland Cement, 6 MM baby metal (aggregate), and water using dual compression hydraulic technology. The shape of Interlocking bricks is like 2 adjoining pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Each brick has a projection at one end and depression at the other and the projection of one block fits into the depression of the next one and they always align perfectly.

Burnt clay bricks need cement mortar to bind them together and the construction costs as well as curing time tend to be high. If you opt for interlocking bricks, the amount of cement, sand used and time can be kept to a minimum. It is said that this technology cuts the construction cost by up to 30% of the total costs.
