Build strong with Toughie Interlocking bricks in Kerala! Interlocking bricks are stabilized and compressed earth bricks that provide strength to the building. Interlocking bricks come in various sizes and locking systems and they do not require mortar during bricklaying work. The self-locking system and mortar-less construction make buildings constructed with interlocking bricks better equipped to transfer the seismic loads throughout the structure.

Interlocking bricks are locked against each other without cement mortar while constructing walls. As the use of mortar can be avoided, it makes the process of building structurally stable walls faster and requires less skilled labor. Interlocking bricks can be used in low-cost housing projects effectively.

Interlocking bricks are not made by baking like conventional bricks! They are manufactured by mixing and compressing sand, soil, and cement in a machine. Concrete Interlocking bricks are manufactured by blending and squeezing a mixture of crusher dust, ordinary Portland Cement, 6 MM baby metal (aggregate), and water.

Soil interlocking bricks are manufactured using a mixture of laterite soil and ordinary Portland cement. The self-locking features of interlocking bricks are attained by using a shear key and lock mechanism.

Manufacturing of Interlocking bricks

1.The requisite material for the bricks is batched and mixed proportionately.

2. The mix is then hydraulically compressed to form bricks with interlocking patterns. Soil compression adds strength and density to the brick.

3. The mixture is set in molds designed with the lock and key shapes.

4. For about 7 days, the interlocking bricks are subjected to curing.

5. The cement sets and bonds with sand, adding to the stability of the brick once the curing is done.

The concrete interlocking blocks from Toughie are super finished, light grey bricks with heavy load-bearing capacity. For the mud bricks after wall construction, a coat of waterproof painting and a thin layer of cement plastering is applied outside to increase its strength and prevent water from seeping in.
